The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is a leading residential public funded English medium university located in the state of Gujarat in India. The university was established in 1949, and currently has 13 Faculties and 3 Colleges and 28 Centres of Excellence with around 1200 faculty members and 35000 students. The University is recognized by Government of India under the Indian Universities Act, 1958 and is accredited by National Academic Accreditation Council.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University has a very old and rich legacy, going back to the nineteenth century. Educational institutions which preceded the M S University of Baroda and which went on to forming the part of its foundational legacy, included the "Baroda College", one of the oldest centres of learning in Western India, founded in 1881.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University offers 88 under-graduate, 98 post-graduate and 70 doctoral programs in a large number of areas and fields. The university has a very strong research base in various fields of arts and culture, business, medicine, social work, science and technology. Many of our departments are internationally acclaimed and receive grants from many major funding agencies.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is situated in the heart of the City of Vadodara. The campus is dotted with beautiful heritage buildings and lush green gardens. It has a serene majestic structure with an Indo-Sarcenic style dome, the second largest in Asia.
