2nd Virtual South East Asian Study Group Meeting on Industrial Problems (VSEASGMIP 2021)

About

The 2nd Virtual South East Asian Study Group meeting on industrial Problems (VSEASGMIP 2021) will take place online from 15th – 19th of November 2021, at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Southeast Asian Study Group Meeting on Industrial Problems will become bridge between academia and industry.

The first study group meeting was held in Oxford in 1968 and now it will take place regularly throughout the year around the globe.

Southeast Asian Study Group on Industrial problems (VSEASGMIP2021) is week-long workshop that provides a forum for problem presenters from businesses and non-academic institutions to work along with academician, mathematicians, industry people and data scientists on real-world problems. On the very first day, the 6-8 problems will be presented to an audience of more than 60 mathematicians and engineers. Work-groups will then be formed. They will work on next three days on the problem. On the final day they will present their solutions. A report will then be written up in the month’s time following the event.

The 2nd Virtual Southeast Asian Study Group Meeting on Industrial Problem will take place online due to current ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation. We have the generous support of the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (OCIAM), Massey University, New Zealand, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland, TU Eindhoven, The Netherlands ,INSA Rouen France as well as various representatives from the mathematical sciences community.

We also have organizers from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh and Department of Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Statistics, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. We are confident that the

2nd Virtual South East Asian Study Group Meeting on Industrial Problems will be lively and as productive as ever.

Academic participants / Industry participants

2nd Virtual South East Asian Study Group Meeting on Industrial Problems (VSEASGMIP 2021) is an exciting way of working on a new real-world problem, which is an opportunity to develop collaborative team working skills, learn some new tricks and try something out of the ordinary. This will definitely act as a bridge between industry and academics.
